Admissions Consultation 2023/24

The Discovery Educational Trust (DET) are currently consulting on the school’s Admissions Policy for admission to Larchwood Primary School in the academic year 2023/24.

There have been no changes to the Admissions Policy procedures / criteria for the last seven years and there are no changes this year.

If after seven years there have been changes we are expected to consult our community again on the policy, which we are doing now. The draft policy can be found here

The following has now been added to the section on Address Checking:

The school will ask for proof of address for all applications that are approved and accepted by parents. This will need to be provided before a child can start the school.

This must be a copy of one of the following:

  • UK driving licence;
  • council tax notification;
  • a utility bill dated within the last 6 months (gas, electricity, water or landline phone)

Where there is reasonable doubt as to the validity of a home address, the Local Authority (LA) reserves the right to take additional checking measures including, in some cases, unannounced home visits. If a school place is secured through false information regarding a home address, the LA may withdraw the place offered.

The statutory consultation period is open for 6 weeks from Friday 1st October 2021 and will close on Friday 12th November 2021.
